Another clipper system will move through the area tonight, with it bringing a mix of rain and snow. A WIND ADVISORY is in effect from 10 AM Sunday through 12 AM Monday.

According to The National Weather Service in Bismarck - Morton and Burleigh Counties will have a brief period of a wintery mix tonight ahead of the system moving through the area with rain, sleet and snow. Northwest winds gusting to 45 mph will develop Sunday morning and will be accompanied by light snow. The best chance for accumulations lie along and north of Lake Sakakawea, where an inch of snow could produce areas of reduced visibility in blowing snow Sunday afternoon and evening.

The area has been experiencing a melt down due to the mild temperatures the past two days across the area, where some snow cover remains in place, has likely crusted the snow enough to limit the blowing snow. However, if winds are strong enough, they may break through the crust and cause additional blowing snow. Those traveling across West and Central North Dakota should monitor the latest weather and road conditions. Travel could be impacted and reduce visibility could cause dangerous conditions.
