The cold air and the wind combined will make for a very dangerous situation in the Bismarck-Mandan area tonight through mid-morning Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a WIND CHILL ADVISORY through 12 Noon Wednesday.

A minimum wind chill temperature ranging from around 25 below zero Southwest, to around 40 below zero near the Turtle Mountain region by sunrise.

Make sure you have a winter survival kit in your vehicle if you'll be traveling and dress for the outside temperature, not the temperature inside your vehicle.

Extended exposure to skin in these conditions will result in frost bite, and could lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

Cities effected and in the advisory area include Watford City, Killdeer, Bismarck, Mandan, Center, Steele, Harvey, Garrison, Beach, Dickinson, Medora, Jamestown, Linton and Fort Yates.

Warmer for the weekend and even warmer next week.

40 degrees this weekend and 50+ by Monday into next week.
