If you're traveling east of BisMan this week, you'll need to know that the National Weather Service has issued a 'Winter Storm Watch' for much of eastern North Dakota.

The winter storm watch will begin Thursday morning, October 26th and will take effect from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, October 27th. Possible blizzard conditions can make travel difficult, while there's a possibility of 2 to 4 inches of snow.

The affected North Dakota counties for the winter storm watch are Barnes, Benson, Cass, Cavalier, Walsh, Eddy, Grand Forks, Griggs, Nelson, Pembina, Ramsey, Ransom, Sargent, Steele, Towner, and Traill.

The forecast for these areas calls for rain to change to snow on Thursday afternoon into the evening, according to the NWS. Strong winds up to 60 miles per hour are expected into Friday morning, with possible whiteout conditions due to drifting snow.

Drivers are urged to use extreme caution if traveling. Be safe on the roads, North Dakota.
