BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Bismarck police are slated to host assessors who will review such things as the department's policies, procedures and management.

The Bismarck Tribune reports the team from Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies will visit the department next week. The team will determine whether the police department continues to meet the group's standards for law enforcement agencies as part of the voluntary process to gain accreditation.

The Bismarck Police Department has been accredited since 1991 and is one of two North Dakota agencies to be accredited. The other agency is the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The Grand Forks Police Department is seeking accreditation.
