One of the advantages of booking with Airbnb, not only did you find a good alternative to booking at local hotels, you did not have to pay sales tax on your rental fees. Those days will be coming to an end according to the Tribune.

The company made an arrangement with the state of North Dakota to start to collect 5% sales tax beginning April 1st.

The same agreement was made with over 300 jurisdictions around the world.

Over 6000 visitors used Airbnb and took advantage of the rental service last year.

According to the tax commissioner, tourism plays a big role in the states budget in North Dakota.
