Dear Bismarck Mandan residents,

I know I shouldn't be in such a hurry in life, but why does everybody in this city go 5 to 10 miles under the speed limit?  This is really ponderous to me.  Ponderous.  Maybe it's my long days in the office and I'm anxious to get home to my family, but for the life of me...I'm not sure why people consistently go so slow.  Now, I'm not talking about bad weather days when you should be driving 5 to 10 miles under the speed limit.  I get it on those days.  I'm talking about ideal driving days.

Now let me preface by saying, "I'm not a speed demon."  I can't remember the last speeding ticket I received.  Knock on wood right?!  I was born and raised in Grand Forks and everybody drives at least 5 miles over the speed limit.  Everybody.

My other observation and this is probably the most annoying.  People who pull out right in front of you when you're going 40 miles an hour. (or in my case 45 lol)  That is downright dangerous. I suppose if I was going 10 miles under the speed limit it probably wouldn't be an issue.  Wink Wink.

Can we please make a compromise?  I'll go the speed limit and you guys go the speed limit as well?  Not my ideal situation but I'm willing to slow down and enjoy life a little bit more.  You speed up your life a little bit.  After all, we're only spinning on this big rock for so long.

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memories—and which ones were here and gone so fast you missed them entirely.
