Bar and restaurant owners all over Bismarck-Mandan, and the entire state have just been handed their Christmas miracle.  Governor Doug Burgum amends his order for restaurants, bars to resume normal hours, as COVID-19 numbers continue to decrease in North Dakota.  Restaurants and Bars in North Dakota had been ordered to close at 10 pm, however some establishments had begun to disregard that order.  According to my sources, its a good thing the Governor made this move, or you might have seen a situation similar to what Minnesota bar owners are doing.  Defying the Governors orders.

I got wind of several bar and restaurant owners in the Bismarck Mandan area, who were fed up with the Governors order, and were on the brink of going back to normal hours, with or without Governor Doug Burgum's new order.

Capacity limits will remain at 50%, and mask requirements remain in effect to at least January 8th.  According to a press release from the Governor's office, he continues to urge North Dakota residents vigilance against the coronavirus.  The Governor went on to say the fact that hospitalizations due to COVID-19 have decreased in North Dakota made it possible for him to make this decision.

Numbers yesterday in North Dakota were some of the lowest numbers we've had since this past Summer.  Only 78 people tested positive for the disease.  The positivity rate was also very good at 4.8.  The number of people being tested is obviously down, but still those are very, very good numbers.  Hospitalizations continue to fall and the number of deaths are down as well.  All good news as we head into the holidays.  Let's hope it continues.
