BIS-MAN Preliminary Scholarship Pageant Saturday Night- Crowns Awarded
The Bismarck-Mandan Scholarship Pageant was Saturday at Simle Middle School. The pageant on stage started at 530pm, but the event actually started much earlier in the day.
As judge, I had to arrive at the property by 12:30pm. The interviews with the contestants started after an orientation with the judges. This process began at 1:30. The judges interviewed each contestant, asking questions covering politics, life in North Dakota to their favorite color to Halloween candy. It ran the gamut!
Then it was ShowTime! All of the contestants were on stage for the opening number, then to the swimsuits and talent competition. I sometimes hear various disturbing comments about todays youth, but I can say, after speaking to each of the contestants, the future looks bright as these young people will guide the future of this state and country!
The winners at the end of the night were;
Kiara Dahmus - Miss State Capital's Teen
Casondra Rutschke - Miss Bismarck's Teen
Abigail Berglund - Miss State Capital
Elizabeth Arnold - Miss Northern Lights
The judges included Alyson Downs, Lar Dawg from 1033 US COUNTRY, April Robinson, Brad Halverson and Janae Sitter.
Congratulations to all of the contestants and the winners that advance to the state competition in Williston.
