Bismarck High School Boy’s Hockey Hits The Reset Button

The Bismarck High School boy's hockey program has officially hit the reset button. 

Head coach Wesley Carr has stepped down as the leader behind the bench for the Demon hockey program.

According to a press release from Bismarck Public Schools, Carr announced his resignation from his position recently.

Rumblings have been circulating throughout the hockey community for the last couple of weeks that a change might be coming.

This was a historic season for the Bismarck High Demons hockey team for all the wrong reasons.

Speculation began that a change might be coming to the Bismarck High Demons after suffering the worst season in their program history.  The Demons finished the season 1-21 and failed to even make the WDA end-of-season tournament, also for the first time in program history.

The only victory of the season this season for Bismarck High came early in the season against Williston.

Wesley Carr has served as the Bismarck High head coach for the last 5 seasons.

During his time as head coach for the Demons, BHS reached the state tournament one time.  That was in Carr's first season back in the 2019-2020 season.

The next two seasons would see the Demons just missing the state tournament losing in state qualifying games of the WDA Tournament. The last two seasons for Bismarck High have been pretty tough as the Demons have compiled a record of 9-37.  Bismarck High only had one winning season in the past 5 seasons.

Wesly Carr is a Hazen High School graduate.  He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Valley City State University, where he played four years of football and baseball.

Carr is currently an assistant baseball coach for Bismarck High School.
