Bismarck Man Charged With Strangling Girlfriend

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Authorities have charged a 43-year-old Bismarck man who they say strangled his girlfriend multiple times.

KXMB-TV reports Angel Franceschi-Acevedo is charged with aggravated assault. Authorities say he strangled his girlfriend repeatedly over a two-day period.

Bismarck police say the woman had significant bruises on her face, throat and arms. She tells them she lost consciousness and couldn't breathe while being strangled.

He is being held on $2,500 bond. Online jail records didn't indicate an attorney.
