Bismarck PD’s ‘Moose Tweet’ Earns SI ‘Tweet of the Week’

Over the weekend, a moose got loose near the Bismarck airport and a tweet sent out by the Bismarck Police Department is going viral online.

It was a fairly reasonable and innocent tweet.

Those not from the area just assume this is the only work the Bismarck Police ever engage in.

Lots of other people had fun with the tweet on Twitter. But the tweet also gained the attention of one prestigious publication: Sports Illustrated.

In Peter King's Monday Morning Quarterback column today (Aug. 28), after quite a bit of scrolling, you can see he features tweets of the week. Despite the publication, the tweets apparently don't need to be sports related.

The No. 1 tweet of the week for the last week was the Bismarck Police Department 'moose tweet.'

The Bismarck Police department expressed their appreciation of the honor of both Twitter and Facebook.
