A local teacher was place on administrative leave after a live radio interview with Joel  Heitkamp's "News and Views" heard locally on Supertalk 1270.

A Bismarck teacher who is a former fiancé of North Dakota Superintendent of Public Instruction Kirsten Baesler was placed on administrative leave after a live interview with Joel Heitkamp's show which originates from KFGO-AM in Fargo.

Todd Tschosik was interviewed about the events that led up to a confrontation with Baesler that led to her arrest for domestic assault.  The charge against Baesler was later  dropped.

The school district's statement says:

"Bismarck Public School teacher Todd Tschosik was placed on administrative leave for the remainder of the school day today after he made a call to a radio talk show during his travel time or classroom preparation time around 9:30 this morning. The call was made during his paid 8-hour work day.

BPS Administrative Rule GBRB-R: The minimum work day for all full-time teachers in the Bismarck School District is eight (8) hours including a duty-free lunch period of one-half hour."
