Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in Traill County Claim Four in Rural ND

Investigators say four people are dead due to a propane-fueled tank less water heater at a home near Blanchard, ND.

The cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning. The name of the dead are  53-year-old Ross Matejcek and 27-year-old Ricky Fischer of Blanchard, 24-year-old Margaret Fischer of Portland, ND and 6-year-old Jabin Newmes of Portland according to The Traill County Sheriff's Office. Police responded to the call at 15746 5th St. SE in rural Blanchard Sunday evening.

According to authorities the water heater was not vented properly and was  being used to fill a large swimming pool.

Four other people were taken to the hospital.
