BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A white supremacist who tried to turn a small North Dakota town into an all-white enclave says he would like to leave the state if he can avoid prison time.

Sixty-two-year-old Craig Cobb says he fears violent repercussions.

Cobb is jailed for allegedly terrorizing residents of Leith with guns in mid-November. He's pleaded not guilty. A judge's three-week window for attorneys to work out a plea deal runs out Monday. Cobb won't comment on whether he'll accept a plea agreement with prison time — which is what Mayor Ryan Schock says Leith residents want.

Cobb says he fears violence from Greg Bruce, who operates an anti-hate Leith website. Bruce says he just wants Cobb out of North Dakota. But he says Cobb has made a lot of other people angry.
