As promised, we continue to follow the case of a sheriff deputy caught on surveillance security cameras at a Minnesota casino brutally abusing his K9 partner.

Ramsey County Deputy Brett Arthur Berry showed up at court to a crowd of protesters upset with his abuse of his K9 partner and some upset that he is still wears a badge and a uniform. The incident happen at Black Bears Casino in June. The video has outraged many animal lovers. We first reported the abuse in June. The K9 "Boone" has been since placed with another officer.

The video (WARNING-VERY GRAPHIC)surfaced and caused public outcry and concern over the officers abuse of his partner. The officer is alleged to have picked up the dog – named “Boone” – by its collar before throwing it to the ground and beating it. His actions are clearly seen on the video, but still officer Berry pleaded not guilty.

The officer is charged with one count of assaulting a public safety dog and one count of animal cruelty.

September 30 is the date set for the pretrial hearing for the dog beating officer.
