Cop Disciplined for Getting into Facebook Fight

A Fargo cop will be disciplined after telling someone to “do us all a favor and hang urself” in a comment on Facebook earlier this month.

Fargo Police Officer Zach Messmer was responding to a remark critical of police after an officer-involved shooting in Grand Forks.

The officer was given the option of receiving a written reprimand or taking part in educational-based discipline. He chose the latter.

Fargo Police Lieutenant Mike Mitchell says, "Messmer knew he made the wrong choice by posting the comment".
