DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — Construction is wrapping up on an oil refinery near Dickinson, and the facility expects to start producing fuel next month.

Bismarck-based MDU Resources Group Inc. and Indianapolis-based Calumet Specialty Products Partners are building the $350 million Dakota Prairie Refinery. Construction started in March 2013.

The refinery will be the first built in North Dakota in more than three decades. It will help meet the need for diesel fuel in the booming oil patch.

Plant manager Dave Podratz tells KXMB-TV the refinery will have the best-available emissions equipment and will be one of the most efficient refineries in the country.

It will employ about 90 full-time workers.
