Dolly Parton loves Christmas — she goes all out when it comes to decorating for the holiday! In an appearance on on Ellen on Thursday (Dec. 6), the country legend admits she even puts a Christmas tree in every room of her house.

"I have a lot of rooms in my house, and I have a Christmas tree in every one of them," Parton reveals. "They're all different sizes. I have different houses. I have a lake house and we decorate it with the theme of that, with water. Christmas is all about the kids."

It will be a rough holiday season for children in California who've been misplaced or lost everything due to recent wildfires, as DeGeneres reminded her audience. "Linda Perry, our friend that produced my album, she put together a whole big show and they raised $1 million dollars for the fires," Parton adds.

Parton worked with the hit-making songwriter and producer Perry on the upcoming soundtrack for the Netflix film Dumplin', out Dec. 7. The film is based off a novel in which an overweight teen decides to enter a beauty pageant in her Texas town. The young girl finds comfort in Parton's music, so when the country singer was approached to license some of her songs as well as write the film's theme song, she simply couldn't say no.

"I said yes to everything. When I met Linda we really clicked musically, and I didn't know her, she didn't know me, we had never met. We just started writing all these songs and they kept using them," she says. "I really felt honored that the movie was about a little girl who had been inspired by my music, because you want to be meaningful in your life. That's how it came to be. It was about a book about me, so of course I should write the music, don't you think?"
