Not only do we say "goodbye" to summer and "hello" to fall on Saturday, it is also National Museum Day around the country and every state has free admission to several of their most popular museums and this includes North Dakota.

Saturday, nearly 1,500 U.S. museums are offering free admission as part of Smithsonian magazine's annual Museum Day event.

North Dakota has 4 museums where you can take advantage of the free deal. There are a couple of steps you need to take.

First, you can go to the Smithsonian webpage and scroll through all of the museums in every state which are offering free admission. In some cases, these museums already have free admission. The four museums in North Dakota are

  • Chateau de Mores State Historic Site - Medora
  • Gateway to Science - Bismarck
  • International Peace Garden - Dunseith
  • North Dakota Heritage Center - Bismarck (free everyday, nevertheless, an awesome place!)
You will be allowed to download one ticket per email address and one ticket provides free general admission for up to two people.
If you are traveling this weekend and would like to visit another museum in another state, you can find free admission in many museums in every state.
What a great opportunity to enjoy some of the state's best museums and spend quality time with your family and learn more about everything!
