It drives me crazy how some people that have no idea how to pronounce New Orleans, try to pronounce what they think is the correct way to pronounce the host city of the Superbowl.

I have made it well known that I am from South Louisiana and even though some of you may make fun of the way I talk, I too enjoy hearing you "taw-lk". Here is today's lesson. First, the following are the INCORRECT pronunciations of New Orleans. Some people think the natives of the Crescent City say New AWLINS. Well, some natives do, but if you're not a native of the state, if you try to say NEW AWLINS, you sound stupid. SO please DON'T! Please take note! If you say New Or-LEANS, it is obvious that you are from out of state, very far out of state. Yes, the city is spelled New Orleans, but it is not pronounced as it is spelled. Here is the correct pronunciation of the host city of the Superbowl, please take note.

NEW OR-LINS. Orleans is pronounced as R-lins-, New Orlins (rymes with bens). Now everyone say it- NEW ORLINS! I will correct you as you have corrected me sinced I moved to this beautiful state, now enjoy the game!
