George Strait closed out the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night (April 7) with his latest single, "Every Little Honky Tonk Bar." His performance featured the honky-tonk bar where he got his start, the Broken Spoke, along with Las Vegas lights on the screens behind him.

"Friday night, it's a given / We'll be L-I-V-N, livin' / We'll dance on the bar 'til we're sleeping it off in the car / Monday morning, it's a given / We'll be D-R-A-G-N, draggin' / And that's what happens in every little honky tonk bar. / Neon lights flashin' bright 'til you're almost hypnotized / Red dress, short skirt, gets it on 'bout every night / Comin' and goin', always rollin' with the flow / Bartender pourin' drinks, Código double shots / You think you're tall and bulletproof until somebody says you're not / Step outside thinkin' you're gonna show 'em you are / That's what happens in every little honky tonk bar," Strait sings in the exuberant chorus.

Strait co-wrote the song with his son Bubba and Dean Dillon, and chose to release it as the lead single off his thirteenth studio album, Honky Tonk Time Machine.

Strait also performed "God and Country Music" on the 2019 ACM Awards, along with a duet with Miranda Lambert on "Run."

Though Strait wasn't nominated, he still had an epic night with three performances and presenting Jason Aldean with the Artist of the Decade award. Aldean even said that Strait's the reason he has the cowboy hat on.

Strait is no stranger to Las Vegas; he launched his Strait to Vegas residency in 2016, performing a number of dates throughout each year since. The newly announced dates for 2019 will make 24 shows thus far.
