Grand Forks Newspaper Goes To Two Print Days A Week
The Grand Forks Herald announced recently they will go down to two days a week as a printed newspaper. The Herald will now print on Wednesday's and Saturday's only. The paper will continue to electronically print the newspaper daily.
Lack of advertising revenue is main culprit according to an article in the Grand Forks Herald. The Herald so far has been able to avoid cutting staff, and going to two days a week of print will help with lack of money coming into the business. The COVID-19 pandemic, a major downturn in ag economy and major retail stores closing in the city have really hurt the newspaper.
Other newspapers across the state and even country are seeing the same problems. The Fargo Forum, who also owns the Grand Forks Herald recently went from seven days a week of print to only 5. Even a newspaper in Tampa, Florida also went down to two print days a week.
The Bismarck Tribune is now the only major newspaper in the state that prints 7 days a week.
