After putting it off all spring and now that we're into summer, I finally washed our windows on Saturday...and it actually did put me in a good mood! It's like the sun is actually making it into our house now. Plus, it was the final big task to complete for spring cleaning.  Yes, I know...I missed the deadline. Days later, I'm still feeling accomplished!  Summer is short in Bismarck, so now I can enjoy the rest of the season.

Feeling like you need a little pick-me-up? Forget retail therapy, just doing some chores around the house can help boost your mood. A new survey from the UK finds that 86.4% of folks say cleaning their home helps make them feel better.

If you’re not one of those who enjoys housework, it may be hard to understand, but some people really find dusting or folding laundry soothing. Cleaning and organizing have been found to reduce stress, improve productivity and clear the mind, so get out the vacuum for some self-care. The survey finds that the top mood-boosting chore is decluttering (39%), followed closely by mowing the yard and recycling. And get this - according to this research, 54% of those surveyed say they’d rather spend a Friday night at home cleaning instead of going out.  Now, if I can only talk my wife into this.  ha ha

The top mood-boosting household tasks are:
