The Ebola crisis has not hit North Dakota as of yet. Sure, there were a lot of jokes about Ebola, but now that it's in peoples back yard, it's not so funny.

According to USA Today.com, some can mistake the symptoms of influenza and Ebola. There is confusion between flu symptoms vs Ebola. Here is how to tell the difference-

Ebola doesn't spread through the air, like the flu. It requires direct contact with bodily fluids. Many flu victims can't get out of bed for one to three days. The shared symptoms are sore throat, cough and fatigued. Rash and chest pains are exclusive to Ebola virus, and these are the early symptoms after 5-6 days.

Ebola patients have abrupt onset of fever/symptoms from eight to 12 days after exposure.  During this period, the shared symptoms of Ebola remain the same with the addition of severe headaches.

The symptoms of Ebola gets severe in this period with the addition of loss of appetite, red eyes and blood in stool. After 12 days the symptoms of flu start to subside. After 12 days Ebola symptoms continue. In a fraction of the Ebola patients, shortness of breath, confusion, internal bleeding and seizures can be present.
