Every year, Bismarck Public School students take field trips to the International Powwow. It's a chance to learn and experience the native culture.

This year however, some parents have expressed caution for the safety of their children attending in light of the pipeline dispute. Bismarck Public School Superintendent Tamara Uselman is trying to calm these fears.

The superintendent said all will have a positive and fun experience for those students who attend. She also said the school resources officers along with other agencies have been working together to ensure the students safety.
