The Coronavirus crisis has taken its financial toll on people and businesses alike. Though North Dakota is slowly opening back up, we still have businesses that are closing. Now, it looks like one of our Bismarck theaters is closing for good thanks to the pandemic.

Last night, I saw a Facebook post asking if the AMC theater in Bismarck is closed. I then saw a post of an email screenshot saying that the Bismarck location is closed. So, I did a Google search, and sure enough, Google says that AMC 8 in Bismarck is permanently closed. I even tried to call the theater and just got a "loop" message talking about the volume of calls coming in.

I'm fairly new to Bismarck, and the AMC theater was one of my favorite places in town to go. Sure, it wasn't the most glamorous theater, but it had character and I loved that. My fiance and I would always catch late-night discount movies on Tuesdays. And I was looking forward to doing that again after things got back to normal.

We've been dealing with the effects of this pandemic for a while now, and it can be hard to see the "light at the end of the tunnel." It's hard to believe that life will ever get back to normal. We don't have a ton of options for things to do in North Dakota. And COVID-19 closures are killing places we love to visit. It's hard not to fearfully wonder how long this mess will continue.
