Joey Chestnut Eats 69 Hot Dogs, Wins Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest

Independence Day means many things to many people. To competitive eater Joey Chestnut, it means consuming nearly 70 hot dogs and breaking his own world record!

Joey "Jaws" Chestnut woofed down 69 hot dogs in ten minutes to win his seventh mustard yellow Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Championship belt. He also bested his own world record with the 69-dog feat.

Sonya "Black Widow" Thomas managed to get through 36 3/4 hot dogs to win the women's championship.
