Kid Rock has signed a record deal with the newly-formed BMG/Broken Bow Records conglomerate BBRMG. While few details have been shared, the singer says it's unlike anything that's the norm in music.

A representative with the label confirmed the news to Taste of Country. On Thursday night (July 13), Kid Rock revealed some details on Instagram while criticizing the media who questioned whether he'd actually be running for U.S. Senate in 2018 or if it is something of a publicity stunt.

"Like politicians write books during their campaigns, I'm planning on putting out music during mine and IT ALL STARTS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT," the "All Summer Long" singer writes. "It's not a hoax, it's a strategy and marketing 101! No plans for an album or anything else that has been the usual norm in the music business OR politics."

Is Kid Rock Really Running for Senate?

Previously Rock (real name Robert James Ritchie Jr.) was signed to Warner Bros. What sparked his post was some assuming that since the store at his new Kid Rock for Senate site links to a Warner Bros. website, his intent must not be truly political. He says Creative Artists Agency and Live Nation are also involved in a deal that will allow him to release music on his terms.

"I’m not signed to Warner Bros!!! - which simple fact-checking would have revealed," he adds.
