BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota-based Knife River Corp. has been awarded a $63.4 million contract to reconstruct a portion of Interstate 29 in Sioux City, Iowa.

It's the largest contract ever for Knife River, a subsidiary of MDU Resources Group Inc. The two-year project will begin this spring, with completion planned for fall 2017.

Knife River will be the general contractor and also will supply the concrete, asphalt and other materials for the 2.5-mile project.
