Lady A, Brad, Randy Houser, CDB and FGL! It’s State Fair Time in North Dakota

The North Dakota State Fair has a reputation for the best in live country entertainment. Shall we stroll down memory lane? Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Toby Keith and Luke Bryan have all graced the huge grandstand stage at the State Fair.

This year is no different. Lady Antebellum kicks off the fair with a SOLD OUT concert Friday night. Yup, it's totally sold out! Other acts include Randy Houser, Charlie Daniels Band, and wrapping up the fair on it's final night is Brad Paisley. For the complete line up of musical acts, click the official NDSF website.

Many people plan to make a concert or a full day or evening at the fair. Hotels are books with some availabilities on several days at various places. Most of the two weekends are booked solid with a waiting list. Check out the Minot Visitors Bureau webpage for places to dine and availabilities on hotel rooms for the week of the fair.

Minot is a short 90 minute drive from Bismarck. From personal experiences, be aware of speed traps set up along Highway 83 in Underwood, Maxx and Washburn. I speak from personal experiences that these areas are worked heavy by local, country and state officials for speed. They know that they'll have a captive crowd of drivers going to and from Minot. And, wear your seatbelt and never drink and drive!

In terms of weather, it'll definitely be fair weather with a warming trend as we get into the weekend with highs in Minot in the lower to mid 90's and a chance of afternoon showers.
