Lar Dawg’s View on Wheelhouse CD

Brad Paisleys new CD "Wheelhouse" has everyone talking! Yes, it's new and yes it's different. Most of  the attention is the duet with LL Cool J and how the lyrics of the song "Accidental Racist" are rough and somewhat raw.

Let me share my thoughts with you on this matter. Brad Paisley is one of country music brightest stars. His music has brought so many new country fans into the fold. Brad is very talented, not only as a song writer, singer he is also a cartoonist and a superb guitarist. Brad plays lead guitar on all of his music. If you ever get the chance to see Paisley in concert, much of the visual show, giant videos on the screens and the production of the show, all come in very large part from Brad himself.

In order for an artist to grow and gain new ground in the industry, he must take his talent "out of the box". They need to try new things, push the bounties and ask the questions that are sometime hard to ask, or even more often, it's more difficult to hear the question. Along the same lines, sometimes the answer to the questions asked are just as difficult hear.

Talented people have a desire to grow and in order to grow, they must take their talents in a direction that is sometimes difficult for the fans follow. Some of the best and most influential musicians of our time have taken their fans to places that they could have never experienced if they would have only produced and create the same thing over and over again.

You will not always enjoy or appreciate  the direction that some of your favorite artist take you, so if you don't like the ride, you can always get off the bus. Sometimes the answers to the questions asked are not always easy to hear.

I suggest that you listen to the new Brad Paisley CD. Listen to it with an open mind. I'll share this with you, like it or not, Wheelhouse will be a commercial and financial success with or with you. That's a fact if you judge it by all of the previous releases from Brad. An artist that does not experiment with their musical tastes is an artist's that ends up retiring early and becoming yesterdays memory!
