Native North Dakotan in the Middle of the Pack in Iditarod

In the middle of the race, 33rd place, not bad! Kelly Maixner and his Mad Stork Kennel team was listed in 33rd place today in the official Iditarod Race in Alaska. Official records show the team made the Rohn checkpoint, which is about 200 miles from Anchorage. At this point in the race, the leader is about 75 miles ahead of the native North Dakotan.

The race has 66 teams and at this point 2 teams have withdrawn from the just under 1000 mile race. The team still has a full team remaining of 16 dogs. Kelly now lived in Big Lake, Alaska.
