Loren Wold a graduate of Bismarck High School has very generously donated $25,000 dollars.  The Wold Family Scholarship was established in 2020 by Loren E. Wold, PhD in memory of Mr. Wade Forster, science instructor at Bismarck High School for over 30 years.

According to a press release from Bismarck Public Schools the scholarship will be awarded annually to 5 BPS senior students who have excelled in their academic pursuits and will be attending college. Preference will be given to those majoring in the area of science who have a strong sense of giving back. Selection will be based on a minimum 3.0 GPA and minimum cumulative ACT of 20.

Mr. Forester was a big influence on so many and the reason why so many students went on to pursue areas in the science fields.  This scholarship will honor both Mr. Forester and help out future students interested in the science.

Loren has been a staunch supporter of education, having endowed the Loren E Wold Undergraduate Research Award at Boston University which supports the research of undergraduate science majors. He is also actively involved in athletics at the Ohio State University, serving as the former Chair of Athletics Council.
