Patients in Minnesota can begin today to register for medical marijuana when  it becomes available in the state July 1st. 

Approximately 5000 Minnesotans are expected to be eligible.

The next hurdle they face will be obtaining a prescription from a doctor in Minnesota. According to reports there are not a large number of physicians willing to hand out prescriptions.  At current, only about 25 percent of doctors are willing to certify patients, while about half are undecided and some say they won't do it. There will be about 8 locations in MN to obtain the pill and oil form of the drug.
