MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Minneapolis City Council committee is set to consider a repeal of a ban on wearing hats in Minneapolis theaters.

The Star Tribune reports the committee will mull the recommendation from council member Andrew Johnson at a meeting Wednesday. A report prepared for the meeting says the hat ban has gone unenforced "in modern times."

The ordinance bars theater patrons from "wearing any headgear or conducting" themselves in a manner "which interferes unreasonably with the view or enjoyment of another person."

The newspaper says the full City Council will likely vote on the repeal at its first August meeting.
