There is a saying in Minnesota called "Minnesota Nice". It's a real deal of a feeling. I speak form experience after living and working in Minnesota before moving here to Bismarck.

I was taken back at how polite the people are in the state. One morning while my early days of working in Minnesota, I did a early, and I mean a very early radio show at the collage and just about every student thanked me for being at their school so early in the morning. I mentioned that back at the radio station how nice everyone was, and a co worker told me "That's Minnesota nice".

Well this was put on display and made national attention when an 8 year old boy in Minneapolis place a homemade sign in his front yard promoting his free concert. He just wanted to perform for some people.

A neighbor saw the sign, snapped a picture, place it on Facebook and posted, Wouldn't it be cool if a lot of people showed  up.

Well in a driving rain, holding umbrellas and signs, over 400 people showed up to hear and watch Dylan Spoering perform his concert. According to WCCO,

“I just wanted to play for people, just wanted to play for free and now I’m famous,” Spoering said.

“He’d wake up at 4 in the morning and ask, ‘Can I go in front of the house and stop people and tell them about the concert?’” his father said.
