According to KX News, The Minot Airforce Base's B-52 bombers are getting some new upgrades. President Donald J. Trump in 2019 signed a $700 billion defense bill and some of that money will be coming to North Dakota. Senator John Hoeven and the Secretary of Defense recently toured the Minot Airforce base and said some major upgrades on coming.

The B-52 Bombers will be getting some new engines to keep these planes running for many years to come. They have been around for over 60 years and they hope to keep them going a lot longer. The first year of the B-52 Bombers was in 1976.

The Airforce Base will also be getting new helicopters and hangers for the helicopters. Commander Scott Maytan of the 5th Operations Group said the new engines on the B-52 Bombers will cut down on the time it takes to repair them and will keep the pilots and flight crew safe.
