It's graduation weekend for the Class of 2020 Beavers at Minot State University. Normally at this time of year, family and friends from all around would be coming to town to help the graduates celebrate their accomplishments. This year, ceremonies and celebrations won't be the same as they used to be. But one famous North Dakotan has some words of encouragement for this year's graduating seniors.

Can you imagine getting a graduation sendoff from a celebrity? Of course, North Dakota's favorite A-List Hollywood actor swooped in to make college graduation special for his alma mater. This afternoon, Minot native Josh Duhamel sent out a congratulatory video message to Minot State University's class of 2020. Minot State University's graduation day is tomorrow (Friday, May 15).

In the video, Josh Duhamel is riding shotgun somewhere between Los Angeles and Phoenix in the summer heat. He said he was listening to a song by Hootie and Blowfish, and it took him back to his college days at Minot State University. He goes on to send encouraging words to the class of 2020. He graduated from Minot State University in 1996.

Don't you love that Josh Duhamel has never forgotten his home? He isn't just "the face" of North Dakota, he cares. Remember in 2011 when Minot flooded? He brought his wife's insanely famous band to town and they raised money for flood relief. He also represents our state in the movies (he totally wears Sioux gear in Life as We Know It). And now, he's sending love to graduating students.
