Monday Is National Sandwich Day!

It's National Sandwich Day, Monday November 3rd. It's the favorite of many and we all have our favorite things to place between two pieces of bread. It's not always meat!

It could be your favorite lunchmeat, left over turkey from dinner the day before or maybe it's the simple peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

" It is no coincidence that November 3 is also the birthday of John Montagu, the fourth Earl of Sandwich. This 18th century English noble wanted to eat his meal with one hand during a 24-hour gambling event, so he instructed his servants to serve him his lunchmeat between two slices of bread."

What is your favorite thing to place between two pieces of bread? The most popular sandwich is the hamburger!  Come on, I'm sure you knew that. I think some people wouldn't consider the hamburger a sandwich, they'd consider it a hamburger!  But, it is meat between two pieces of bread so therefore it is a sandwich thus making it the most popular sandwich in the country. The next would be chicken sandwich and I would think tuna fish would be up there!

Go to your favorite sandwich shop Monday and enjoy that nicely baked bread and make it a double meat to celebrate the day.
