So it is written, So it shall be litigated.

Today, Governor Doug Burgum came down from upon high to deliver the word of Jehovah to the North Dakota faithful. To release to our classrooms, the words that Jehovah himself had revealed to the Hebrew people- The Ten Commandments!

Here from the movie of the same name (thanks Wikiquotes)

Blasphemers! Idolaters! For this you shall drink bitter waters! God has set before you this day His Laws of Life and Good, and Death and Evil. THOSE WHO WILL NOT LIVE BY THE LAW... [lifts the Ten Commandments tablets in the air] ...SHALL DIE BY THE LAW!!!!!!!!!! [throws the tablets at the Golden Calf]

North Dakota won't "die by the law". But, get ready to lawyer up.

At the end of March, I addressed my personal opinion on the controversy that surrounds the Ten Commandments, and the confusion it creates in my head.  It was titled Hebrew 10 Commandments To North Dakota Schools?  You can read it here. Just now, I could only find 2 Synagogues in North Dakota, but that was just doing a simple online search. Maybe North Dakota's Jewish Community could shed a little more light on their thoughts of Christians coveting the Ten Commandments?

So, if such a religious minority in our communities as Judaism is given such a place of reverence in our schools and government buildings, we will surely also embrace such other not-Christian doctrines as the Quran or Upanishads yes?

Of course not...I'm just pickin' fun.

I'm really all for religious freedom, so I'm OK with passing on the word of the Hebrew God passed onto Moses and the Israelites.  It's a freedom bestowed in the Constitution.

Article the third... Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I just hope good Christians don't get too upset about all this Judaism up on the classroom walls.

I know The Ten Commandments is just a movie...but when I was young, I watched it ten years straight and that's what I took from it.

Also Yul Brynner was a kick butt Pharoah until...Moses split the Red Sea.  You can watch that here.

How come we never hear about that on Sundays?
