The North Dakota High School Activities Association has announced new football regions and classifications for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

One team in the Bismarck-Mandan area that will be immediately affected by the new change is the Shiloh Christian Skyhawks. The Skyhawks will move from a 9-Man to Class A.

According to Shiloh Christian Athletic Director Brandon Lemer, the Skyhawks are excited about the new opportunity to take part in Class A action.

We've known for a while that it was coming...We just didn't know what region we were going to end up in. So it's very exciting on that part. We're actually going to up non-conference against Oak Grove next year.

Shiloh Christian will move into Region 4 of Class A next season. New Salem-Almont-Glen Ullin, Richardton-Taylor-Hebron, and Heart River will also make the move from 9-Man to Region 4 of Class A.

Some other changes include Hazen and Beulah moving up from Class A to Class 2A and Fargo Shanley and Jamestown moving to 3A from 2A.

Based on enrollment numbers, the classifications could change in the future after the upcoming two seasons.
