A woman from Williston, North Dakota just posted a video on the social media platform TikTok and it's gone viral.  According to an article on KX News, last week Jocci Rice gave her 9 year old step son Karter $60 bucks to spend on groceries.  Karter's job was to grocery shop for their family of four.

Now, I know when I was 9 years old, I would've loaded up the grocery cart on Mountain Dew and candy, but not Karter.  With only having $60 dollars to spend, Karter made sure he chose items that were healthy in nature, like fruits, vegetables and meats.  Not the items you would expect a 9 year old to pick.

Here's the TikTok video.

As you can see by the video, Karter is very meticulous about his shopping list and is doing his best to have his family eat healthy and on a budget.

Jocci Rice has received over 2 million views and 300,000 likes on her TikTok video.  She says she's received a lot of positive feedback on her video from parents hoping to do this too.

I would like to take this one step further.  First off, kudos to Jocci for teaching her son Karter about money management, healthy nutrition and to care for those around him.  Don't you think that money management, should be a required class at an early age in school?  Children should be taught how to use and save their money wisely way before they have their first job.  Wouldn't that make our entire workforce for the future better off.  I'll go as far to say, it will make our country stronger.  Equally as important, nutrition.  I know classes on both of those subjects at an early age would've been very beneficial in my life.
