The annual Band Night Parade this Friday will be the first to follow a new route through Bismarck to prevent it from crossing over the railroad tracks on the south side of Main Street.

The new route still starts on the Capitol Grounds, but will turn West on E Avenue A, then head north again on 4th St N.

31 Elementary, Middle and High School bands are in the parade as well as other local orginizations and businesses. All told, there are 75 entries into this year's parade.

The parade will leave the Capitol Grounds starting at 6:30pm. This year's Grand Marshal is Ernie Borr, a retired Band Teacher from Mandan. He spent 15 years teaching at Mandan before leaving to start then Mary College's Band program.
