WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — No one was hurt when eight oil storage tanks near an Enbridge facility south of Williston caught fire.

McKenzie County Emergency Manager Jerry Samuelson tells KXMC-TV the tanks about nine miles north of Alexander contained about 1,000 barrels of oil. They caught fire Thursday and were being allowed to burn themselves out on Friday.

Crews from the Alexander Fire Department were on scene, spraying four adjacent tanks containing another 1,200 barrels of oil to make sure they didn't catch fire.

Samuelson says there was an oil tanker truck unloading when the fire broke out, but the exact cause of the blaze wasn't immediately determined.
