Things are good in out state! The secret is out! We already knew this! North Dakota scored #1 for the best state to live in. According to a Gallop pole, "Gallup interviewed more than 178,000 people across all 50 states about their life-evaluation, which is how they score their well-being, emotional health, work environment, physical health, healthy behaviors, and access to basic necessities. Responses were translated to an index calculated between 0 and 100, where 100 represents ideal well-being. North Dakota scored a 70.4, which Gallup attributed to their strong scores in the areas of physical health and work environment, while West Virginia scored a 61.4 - its fifth straight year in the bottom spot.

This should come as no surprise to us as we are already living the good life. Low taxes, good paying jobs and great neighborly people. Yes, the winters are brutal, especially this year but we do have the good life! Other states in the top 10 include South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana and Iowa. Seems as though the Midwest has something going on.

In the bottom of the list are Louisiana (which at this time of year, it's Mardi Gras, party on!), Arkansas, Mississippi and Oklahoma. Notice a trend? It's the South.
