BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A group of North Dakota college students is offering free tax preparation services for qualified individuals.

Sixteen students are part of the University of Mary's tax team. They are IRS-certified volunteer preparers who can help other students, low-income taxpayers, disabled individuals and the elderly fill out federal and state tax forms.

Rhoda Sautner is an assistant professor of accounting at the University of Mary. She tells the Bismarck Tribune this program gives accounting students real-life experience.

The students' services are free for those with an income of $52,000 or less.

The students will be helping qualified individuals March 14 and 21 at the Butler Center in downtown Bismarck.
