BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Tourism is offering a $750,000 matching grant to tourism attractions that can draw more visitors to the state.

The 2016 Tourism Infrastructure Grant Program's purpose is to provide funding for new tourism operations to attract visitors from outside North Dakota+ for at least one overnight stay.

The money can be used to build a new visitor attraction, expand attractions or offer new support services for visitors.

Funds cannot be used for marketing or ongoing operating expenses.

The North Dakota Legislature appropriated $750,000 for the program during the 2015 session.
