In the 2016 NFL draft, only two players who actually grew up in the state of North Dakota got drafted. But that was enough to earn North Dakota the title of 'Most NFL Picks Per Capita' according to USA Today.

Carson Wentz and Connor McGovern were the two North Dakota natives selected. Considering North Dakota's rather small population, that means one in every 336,296 people in North Dakota gets drafted into the NFL.

These are pretty good odds considering your chance of winning the Powerball jackpot is one in 292,201,338.

If you are good enough, an NFL contract is worth more than most Powerball Jackpots anyway.

Of course your odds of getting drafted into the NFL are better than winning the Powerball no matter what state you hail from. But your best odds are in North Dakota.

A Powerball ticket is $2. A regulation size NFL football if you want to start practicing is $25.

You can decide what you think is the better investment.
