Did you know that you could be charged with a crime in North Dakota if you get caught cheating? I didn't even know there was such a charge until a friend of mine was telling me about it. According to a Bismarck Tribune Article from a few years ago it is rare that people get charged with the crime but it can happen in North Dakota.

A person can get charged with the crime if they are doing anything with someone else other then there wife or husband. The charge is rarely used in North Dakota but it can be used if you have enough evidence. Adultery is a misdemeanor charge and can be punishable up to one year in prison and fines up to $1,000 according to the Bismarck Tribune's article. I googled Adultery in North Dakota charge and it stated the same thing.

This is one of those crazy laws that we have in North Dakota that I'm sure many don't know about. It's one that I've never heard about until a couple weeks ago. I'm sure some people would like to charge their ex with this from all the hard times some people go through. This charge is one of a kind and is very interesting to say the least. It will be interesting to see if North Dakota ever gets rid of this charge or if we will keep it for many years to come. Have you ever heard of the adultery charge in Nort Dakota?
