Our Favorite BisMan Area DOGS Who Listen To US 103-3!
Yesterday was National Dog Day in America. We decided to ask our listeners to post up a photo of their favorite furry friends on our facebook page. We received nearly two hundred submissions of dogs in the Bismarck Mandan area. Just about every breed of dog you can think of was submitted. Dogs truly do enrich our lives. One of our listeners made the comment, "She can't remember life without a dog." They really are the best.
National Dog Day has not been around all that long. It's only been happening since 2004. According to nationaldogday.com it was founded by Animal Welfare Advocate and Pet Lifestyle Expert, Colleen Paige. The day is meant to celebrate all breeds, mixed and pure. It's also hoped the day would help the public recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year from shelters. National Dog Day honors family dogs and dogs that save lives lives. Dogs that protect families and homes, dogs who protect law enforcement, for their blind companion, for the disabled and even dogs that help detect bombs and drugs. Yep, our four legged friends really are "Man's Best Friend!"
I have two Yellow Labs myself, and I often joke with a teenager in the house, and being married. "I'm glad I have a dog, so somebody is happy to see me when I get home." lol Drum shot. So I decided to come up with a GALLERY of PHOTOS of my top 20 photos that I received from our listeners. To be honest there was no way to narrow it down to only 20 dogs. So many gorgeous dogs to choose from, I really did have to leave way to many dogs out of this gallery. So grab a milk bone and your favorite puppy and enjoy "Our Favorite Bismarck Area Dogs!"
